A quality review is most useful when each issue can be traced to a specification, sample and batch. Check the complete set as well as individual tiles. An issue record should describe the observed difference, not just label a product poor quality.
Missing pieces and unclear artwork
Compare each set with the approved face-by-face count list. Check for duplicated or missing faces, orientation errors and difficult-to-read graphics. Photograph the affected pieces next to the reference and identify the set or batch so that the supplier can investigate.
Dimensions, edges and accessory fit
Measure the agreed points, inspect edges and trial the tiles with the rack, mat and storage. Record the measuring method and the actual observation. Avoid applying an arbitrary universal tolerance; acceptance limits should reflect the approved design and intended use.
Colour, packing and resolution
Compare colour under agreed lighting and check component movement in the packed set. Separate cosmetic differences from issues affecting use or protection. Agree how defects are reported, corrected and rechecked before shipment; sampling and replacement terms must be defined for the order.
Prepare the next decision
Next, review sample approval checklist alongside your current brief. Review the custom American mahjong set project page or send a project question with the relevant drawings, photographs and open decisions.
